| Can QK SMTP Server bypass my ISP and hide IP address? |
QK SMTP Server can send mails directly from your local computer, but it could
not hide IP address and bypass your ISP. |
| Is QK SMTP Server supposed to be runnable as a service? |
In current version, it could not be set as a service. But you still can set
it to auto-startup when rebooting PC.
You can follow this steps:
Firstly, please choose the two frontal items on "Start Up Settings" tag in "Configuration
Settings" window.
Then you can put a "shortcut" of the software into this folder - "~\Documents and
Settings\~\Start Menu\Programs\Startup". |
| Does your software allow emails to be sent directly using a Dial-up connection? |
Yes, it can. |
| Why it keeps timing out? |
This problem has something to do with the internet connection, too. The time
to analyze email address is limited, when this software could not get access to
the recipients' smtp server within the limited time, it is defaulted as connection
timeouts.
To improve this problem, you can send the mail once more or change the smtp setting.
We recommend you to send directly first. If it fails, then use transit SMTP Server.
You can select the third item on "Advanced Setting" tag in "Configuration Settings"
Window, and set "Relay SMTP Server". |
| I have downloaded a trial version of QKSMTP Server. How do I install this
software? |
Double click smtpserver.exe. Then follow the instructions in the Install Wizard. |
| Connect error in directly sending! Info : Socket Error # 10051 |
Info "Socket Error # 10051" is the feedback from destination server when QK
connecting with it. Some server refuse to respond your connecting with multithreads,
you may change the send settings to the third one: send mails directly first,
if it failed, transfer to the relay smtp server. |
| If I setup qk smtp on my notebook to send mails directly , can I also setup
password authentication to product others from using it as a relay? |
Yes. |
| My QK SMTP Server refuse to start, giving me a message, that "it failed to
start service at port 25. Could not bind socket. Address and port already in use.
Please change to an available port in settings Panel." How can I change this? |
Change the Port to other number. Don't forget to input the same port in your
mail client. |
| Does the QK SMTP support attachments? |
QK SMTP Server supports attachments, but if the size of attachments is too
big, which will effect the stability of the working of QK SMTP Server. And also
the relay smtp server and recipients' mailbox will reject to accept email if its
size is too big! |
