| How to Install QK SMTP Server? |
Please follow these steps to install QK SMTP SERVER on your system:
Double click smtpserver.exe.
Follow the instructions in the Install Wizard. |
| How to Uninstall QK SMTP Server? |
Please follow these steps to remove QK SMTP SERVER from your system:
Click 'Start > Program Files > QK SMTP Server' and select 'Uninstall'.
Follow the instructions in the Uninstall Wizard. |
| What those Status mean? |
Mails in queues: 0 The amount of mails need to send.
Sent mails: 0 -- The amount of received mails that already sent.
Successful: 0 -- The amount of mails that sent successfully to the destination host(s).
Failed: 0 -- The amount of mails that failed to send to the destination host(s).
Started at 2002-12-6 10:41:15 -- The date and time when you start service.
Running 0 hours 4 minutes 8 seconds -- The time from starting service until now.
-- Running indicator, showing whether SMTP server is running or stopped.
-- / (rotating) -- Sending mails indicator, showing whether SMTP server is sending mails.

| Start Up Settings -> Select "Auto start service when program starts up". |
How to minimize to system tray when program starts up? |
Start Up Settings -> Select "Minimize to system tray when program starts up".

| Server Port and Send Thread? |
Server Port: The port number of outgoing SMTP server, the default port number is 25.
Send Thread: The thread number for sending mails, you can select one from 1 to 100 according the amount of mails you need to send, the default thread number is 20. |
| Hostname for HELO/EHLO? |
| The name of your computer for HELO/EHLO, the default Hostname is A. |
| How to let QK SMTP Server send notifying message back when failed to send mails to the destination? |
| Settings -> Run Settings -> select "Send notifying message back to the sender when failed". |
| How to send mails directly to recipients' mail server? |
Settings -> Advanced Settings -> select "Send directly to recipients' mail server.(Default)".
Send mails to recipients' mail server directly, without using your ISP's SMTP Server.

| How to send mails via transit SMTP Server? |
Settings -> Advanced Settings -> select "Send via transit SMTP Server".
Send mails to transit SMTP Server first, then the transit SMTP Server will send your mails to recipients' mail server. Usually, you can regard the SMTP Server provided by your ISP as a transit SMTP Server. If you want to learn more about your ISP's SMTP Server, you may refer to ISP's website or give them a call. How to send mails with both server? |
Settings -> Advanced Settings -> select "Send directly first. If it fails, then use transit SMTP Server."
QK SMTP Server will firstly try to send mails directly to recipients' mail boxes. If the attempt fails, then the mails will be relayed to the transit SMTP Server. (View Flash Tutorial) |
